Leading the way to a Better Move!
Believe it or not, ABC Removals was started in 2005, and now is a large company by removal industry standards.
Kevin Harris left school at 17 and enrolled with employment agencies, which sent him to carry out removals, including Evans and Britannia Goodwins, Kevin then worked for his Father Ian, who was a director of another company.
Soon Kevin’s experience led him to set up his own removal firm and buy his first Luton van, which the company still own today.
His first move was a house clearance after someone had died, and Kevin remembers he received the grand sum of £100. His relationship with Ian prompted Kevin to help financially. And with his management experience Ian asked Kevin to complete a business plan, it was thought a good and sound plan and Ian together with his wife Karen, and his accountant invested in the new business.
Since then, a number of specialist vehicles have been brought and the company now owns a total of 10 vans of both 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes capacity. In October 2008, ABC Removals biggest competitor in the market, Chase Removals was purchased and still trades in that name.
Their first office was a shed in Ian’s back garden, but as the business grew larger premises were required and following a storage job for a local company, Extra Storage (Brownhills) Ltd. ABC Removals moved both their office and storage to a new location which they continue to occupy today.
The years 2010 and 2011, which have seen the industry struggling to stay alive, have been good to ABC Removals. The company has maintained its position, in the removal and storage market.
ABC Removals is going from strength to strength, they have a fleet of 20 vehicles including an 18 tonne vehicle this enables them to do long distance work covering all of UK, including Scotland Wales and Ireland.
